Hello and Welcome, I’m Yvette
My name is Yvette Villa and I was born and raised in the Central Valley. I am Mexican American, a first-generation graduate, and bi-lingual in Spanish and English. I obtained my Bachelor’s in Social Work at Fresno State and Master’s degree at San Jose State University.
I grew up knowing that I wanted to help people. My passion for social work naturally developed from its ability to provide diverse services and make a meaningful impact across a wide range of populations and communities.
Having a background in social work offers a balance of being able to provide advocacy, case management, and emotional support to individuals and communities in need. I’ve had the honor of supporting individuals with developmental disabilities, low income families, survivors of domestic violence and trauma, as well as children and adolescents involved in the Child Protective Services and foster care system. Over the past six years I’ve been working as an outpatient Oncology Social Worker, helping individuals and families navigate the complexities of a cancer diagnosis. I’m deeply passionate about supporting the cancer community and helping those who are facing anxiety, grief, and the many challenges that come with this experience.
My work is inspired by personal practices of meditation, daily gratitude, Reiki, sound healing, and yoga. My healing journey began when I was suffering with anxiety and depression, which manifested into physical/social symptoms including GI issues, extreme fatigue, and social anxiety. Spirituality and leaning to prayer helped sustain me to get me through each day. As the years went on, I started to further invest in my self-healing journey through alternative holistic practices. I sought out therapy, invested in naturopathic medical care to optimize my immune system, and received spiritual mentorship support.
It has been a journey to feel at home in my own spirit and body. The integration of holistic, energetic, and spiritual approaches have had a huge impact in my life. I feel more connected to my authentic self, practice self-love, have established better boundaries (energetically and also with interpersonal relationships), honor my inner-strength and courage, and feel a greater sense of joy and gratitude. I hope to help people reach a higher level of healing so that they too can experience so much love, joy, and peace within themselves.
During my free time, I enjoy spending quality time with my loved ones (dog, friends, and family), hiking, yoga, dancing, cooking, traveling, and connecting with nature. I also enjoy attending workshops and community events that nourish me in a spiritual way.
